Measure book — page two

Kitchen Renovation Services in Moorabbin

Twelve services, written in the order they are decided. Some of them move where the kitchen sits. Some change only what you touch. The measure taken on site is what tells the two apart — which is why every job here begins with a tape, a pencil and a page of dimensions rather than a mood board.
Modern L-shaped kitchen with grey shaker cabinetry, white subway-tile splashback, marble-look flooring and a large white island.

A hand holds a yellow tape measure across a white wall or cabinetry panel, with a small drilled hole visible below.

Panel measured before cutting — the dimension decides the cabinet, not the other way around.

Field note — measure

Two kitchens of identical size rarely take the same plan.

Layout or finishes — the measure settles it

Most enquiries arrive as a feeling rather than a brief: the kitchen is dark, the bench is short, two people cannot pass. On site those complaints separate quickly. Sometimes the plan is wrong — the fridge blocks the run, the sink faces a wall, a side door eats a metre of bench — and no new door fronts will fix it. Sometimes the plan is sound and only the surfaces have aged out.
That single finding routes the whole job. A wrong plan goes to Kitchen Design and, usually, to Complete Kitchen Renovations. A sound plan with tired finishes goes to Kitchen Makeovers and the surface trades. The three bands below are simply the twelve services sorted by which of those answers they belong to.

Band one — rebuild

When the plan itself is the problem, the work has to reach the walls.

Services that change the layout

01  Complete Kitchen Renovations

Decides everything: strip-out, services, cabinetry, benchtops, splashback and handover as one sequence.

03  Small Kitchen Renovations

Decides clearance and circulation in galley, single-line and unit kitchens, where 50 mm changes how the room works.

04  Luxury Kitchens

Decides the level of detail: stone surfaces, integrated appliances, butler’s pantries and bespoke joinery held to one standard.

05  Kitchen Remodelling

Decides where things move to when the room is right but the plan is not — bench runs, appliance positions, openings.

Band two — surfaces

Services that change what you touch

Keep the plan, replace the wearing parts.

08  Kitchen Benchtops

Decides the working surface — stone, timber or laminate — templated once the cabinetry is set.

09  Kitchen Splashbacks

Decides the wall plane behind the bench: tile, stone, glass or full height, fitted after the benchtop lands.

10  Kitchen Tiling

Decides substrate preparation, waterproofing, grout and setting-out for floors, walls and wet zones.

12  Kitchen Makeovers

Decides how much to keep: sound carcasses stay, doors, bench and splashback change.

Band three — joinery

Services that decide the inside of the kitchen

Joinery runs through both answers above. Whether the layout moves or stays, the drawings, the boxes and the way they open are what the kitchen is judged on five years later.
The cabinet list is the real document — everything else is a finish on top of it.

02  Kitchen Design — measure-up, layout planning, finish selection and the drawings the quote is built from.

06  Kitchen Cabinets — door styles, finishes, hardware and the configuration of each run.

07  Custom Cabinetry — made to measure for awkward runs, chimney breasts, pantries and islands.

11  Kitchen Storage — drawer systems, corner solutions, pantries and appliance garages.

Sequence — twelve stages, four groups

How the work is ordered

Every service above sits somewhere in the same twelve-stage run. Grouping them into four keeps the shape legible: nothing is ordered before it is drawn, and nothing is fitted before the surface under it is ready.

Design  STAGES 01–04

Consultation  ·  Measure  ·  Design  ·  Quote — the page of dimensions, the plan drawn against it, and a priced scope you can read line by line.

Supply  STAGE 05

Materials — selections locked and ordered against the drawings, so lead times are known before anything is removed.

Build  STAGES 06–08

Demolition  ·  Preparation  ·  Cabinetry — the old kitchen removed, walls and services made ready, then the boxes installed and levelled.

Finish  STAGES 09–12

Benchtops  ·  Splashback  ·  Finishing  ·  Handover — surfaces templated and fitted, the wall plane set, trims and doors adjusted, and the kitchen handed back in working order.

Tell us the suburb, the kitchen you have and what is not working. We take the dimensions on site, put the job in one of the three bands above, and price the scope that follows from it.
