Measure book — appendix, how information is handled

Privacy policy

Asking about a kitchen means telling someone where you live and what you want changed about the room you use most. This page sets out plainly what happens to that information: what is collected when you write to us, why it is needed to prepare a measure and a quote, where it is kept, and how to have it corrected or removed.
It is written to reflect Australian privacy expectations and to be readable at normal reading speed. If something about your information is not covered below, ask through the enquiry form and the answer will come back directly.
Field label — the policy in six lines

A privacy page has nothing to illustrate; it is read rather than looked at, so it is set as plainly as possible.
The six points below are this policy in summary. Each one is expanded, in the same order, in the sections that follow.

01  You decide what to send.
An enquiry needs a way to reply and a description of the kitchen. Everything beyond that is your choice.

02  It is used to reply and to quote.
Answering your question, arranging a measure, preparing a design and a price.

03  Enquiries stay in this website’s own system.
They are stored privately within the site’s database rather than pushed out to third-party platforms.

04  Nothing is sold or rented.
Your details are not traded, and you are not added to an external marketing list because you asked about a kitchen.

05  No payment is taken on this site.
There is no checkout here, so no card or bank details are collected through these pages.

06  You can ask, correct or delete.
Ask what is held about you, have an error fixed, or have the enquiry removed.

A quote is only as good as the notes behind it; the notes should hold nothing you did not agree to give.
Field label — what is written down

Three kinds of information arrive here: what you type, what you send afterwards, and what the server records on its own.
01

What is collected

What you write in an enquiry. Your name, the contact details you choose to give so we can reply, the suburb or location of the kitchen, and whatever you tell us about the project — the shape of the room, what it fails at, the budget range you have in mind and when you would like the work to happen, if you choose to include them.
What you send while we correspond. If, after the first contact, you send photographs of the existing kitchen, measurements, sketches, floor plans or product references, those are held with the rest of the enquiry and treated the same way.
What the web host records. Like any website, these pages are served by a host that keeps standard technical logs — such as the requesting IP address, browser type and the time of the request — for security and for the ordinary operation of the server. That information is not used to identify individual visitors.
Sensitive information — health, financial account details, identity documents — is never requested through this site. Please do not include it in an enquiry.
Field label — purpose

Every detail asked for has a job in the quote; nothing is collected because it might be interesting later.
02

Why it is collected

To answer you. A reply needs somewhere to go, and a question about a galley kitchen in Highett cannot be answered usefully without knowing the room and the suburb.

To arrange and carry out the measure, design and quote. Location, access, layout notes and the scope you describe determine what is measured, what is drawn and how the work is priced.

To keep an accurate record. If the job proceeds, the notes from the first enquiry through to handover form the record of what was discussed, specified and agreed.

It is not used to build an advertising profile, and an enquiry is not treated as a subscription. If you would like to hear from us about something other than your own project, you would have to ask for it.

Where it is kept, and who reads it

Enquiries sent through the forms on this site are stored privately in the website’s own database, within the WordPress installation that runs these pages, on the hosting service that serves them. Access is limited to the people who need it: whoever is preparing your reply, measuring the kitchen, drawing it and pricing the work.
If a project proceeds, some details necessarily travel with the job — a cabinetmaker needs the cabinetry drawings and dimensions, a stone supplier needs the benchtop template, an installer needs an address and an access time. Only what is needed for that task is passed on, and it is passed for that task alone.
Information is kept while it is still doing something useful: answering you, quoting the work, running the job, and holding the record of a completed renovation. When an enquiry no longer serves any of those purposes, or when you ask for it to be removed, it is deleted.
Not part of it

Selling, renting or swapping enquiry details.

Adding enquirers to an external marketing platform.

Taking payments or storing card details on this site.

Creating a visitor account or login you did not ask for.

Publishing your name, address or photographs of your home without your permission.

What is not collected cannot be lost.
Measure book — the site itself

Cookies, browsing and links to other sites

You do not need an account to read these pages, and nothing on the site asks you to sign in. Where cookies or similar small files are set, they support the basic operation of the website — security, delivering pages correctly, and remembering a form while you are filling it in. You can block or clear them in your browser; the pages will still be readable.
Pages here link out to other websites from time to time — a manufacturer’s product range, a materials supplier, a government or industry resource. Once you follow a link, you are on someone else’s site under someone else’s policy, and this one no longer applies.
Field label — your request

Ask in writing and the request can be traced to the right enquiry without guesswork.
03

Access, correction and deletion

You may ask what personal information is held about you, ask for anything inaccurate to be corrected, or ask for your enquiry and the material sent with it to be deleted. Send the request through the contact form, noting the name and suburb used at the time so the right record can be found.
Requests are dealt with in the order they arrive. Where a record has to be kept for a legitimate reason — for example, documentation relating to work already carried out — that will be explained rather than quietly ignored, and anything not needed for that reason will still be removed.
The same route is open if you believe your information has been handled poorly. Describe what happened and it will be looked into and answered.

Changes to this policy

If how information is handled changes — a different enquiry system, a new supplier arrangement — this page is rewritten to match. The version published here is always the one that applies. Nothing described above is retroactive: if you sent an enquiry under an earlier version, ask through the contact form and you will be told plainly what is held.
